The Kinesic Interview & Interrogation Technique – Level III
Duration: 5 days
Advanced Practical: Interview and Interrogation sessions with inmates.
Location: Classroom, various state and local prisons, youth offender camps, women’s prison facilities and, if possible, mental health facilities.
No. Students: 30 maximum
Prerequisite: Levels I and II
D. G. Foster takes students into pre-determined prisons to interview volunteer convicts who are not on appeal or awaiting court dates.
Officers conduct interviews, using Kinesic principles, in pairs and singly, over periods of 10 minutes to 2 hours.
Performance is then assessed by the group and by the instructor and suggestions for improvement are discussed. Officers continue interviewing across a broad spectrum of offenders, building confidence in tailoring interviewing skills to individual applications and honing their Kinesic Interviewing techniques.
To date, students in this Level III course have sharpened their interviewing skills to such an extent that they have obtained information from inmates on over four hundred and fifty (until then) unsolved homicides.
